Product Structure

The XL-21 low-voltage power distribution cabinet features a fully enclosed, fixed, and vertically partitioned structural design, prioritizing simplicity, reliability, and ease of maintenance.


1. Cabinet Exterior

The XL-21 cabinet is constructed from cold-rolled steel sheet, bent and welded, providing sufficient rigidity to support heavy circuit breakers and busbars. The protective door is a single-opening design with an opening angle greater than 110°. Polyurethane sealing strips are fitted around the door edges to enhance dustproof performance.

The interior sides feature vertical profiles with perforations, facilitating the adjustment of the beams and mounting plates according to component dimensions.


2. Internal Layout

Although the XL-21 is a single, integrated space, it is divided into several functional areas:

Top Busbar Area: The main incoming busbar is located at the top of the cabinet, secured with insulators, and supports horizontal or vertical extension of the copper busbars.

Central Component Area: This is the core area, used to install disconnect switches, circuit breakers, contactors, thermal relays, etc.

Bottom Wiring Area: Ample space is provided at the bottom for cable entry, and dedicated neutral and ground busbars are included.


3. Bottom and Cable In/Out Design

The bottom of the distribution cabinet features a large, removable panel that can be customized with openings based on the number of cables, and can be used with cable sheaths.

A 50-100mm high channel steel base can be fitted to increase the cabinet's height from the ground, providing moisture protection and facilitating forklift handling.

What Are the Installation Environment Requirements for the XL-21 Distribution Cabinet?

This XL-21 Low Voltage Power Distribution Cabinet is mainly used in three-phase three-wire and three-phase four-wire power systems with an AC frequency of 50Hz and an voltage below 500V for power and lighting distribution. Before starting your project or actual installation, you can determine the installation environment. As the manufacturer, we offer the following suggestions:


1. Ambient Temperature

Normal operating temperature: -5℃ to +40℃;

Average temperature over 24 hours: not exceeding +35℃;

Storage and transportation temperature: -25℃ to +55℃ (short-term);

Note: If installed in a high-temperature environment, enhanced ventilation or derating design is required.


2. Altitude

Installation altitude must be less than or equal to 2000 meters.

Above 2000 meters, derating according to standards is required.


3. Relative Humidity

With an installation ambient temperature of +40℃, relative humidity must be ≤ 50%.

Higher humidity is permissible at lower temperatures.


4. Installation Location

The XL-21 power cabinet is for indoor installation only.

It is prohibited to install in: unshaded outdoor areas, hazardous locations with explosive gases or dust, highly corrosive environments, or areas with severe dust or conductive dust.


5. Mechanical and Vibration Conditions

The installation environment must be free from severe vibration or impact. Vibration frequency ≤ 10 Hz, acceleration ≤ 0.5g. The installation foundation should be stable, avoiding sharing the same platform with large motors or stamping equipment.

After installation, the cabinet must be kept basically vertical, with a vertical tilt ≤ 5°, otherwise it will affect the lifespan of the operating mechanism.


6. Ventilation and Heat Dissipation Space

Maintenance access should be provided at the front and back of the cabinet. The front operating surface should be ≥ 0.8m, 1.0m recommended. If maintenance is required at the rear, ≥ 0.8m is required. The top of the cabinet should be at least 0.5m from the ceiling. When multiple cabinets are arranged side-by-side, no gap is needed between them; they can be directly assembled. However, ventilation space must be left at both ends of the entire row.


7. Fire Prevention and Safety Requirements

The installation area should be a non-flammable structure. Flammable and explosive materials must not be stored within 1 meter of the installation site.

The ground should be flat and dry. It is recommended to construct a concrete foundation 100–200mm above the ground to prevent water ingress.


8. Electromagnetic Environment

The installation location should be far away from high-power frequency converters and high-frequency equipment to prevent interference with secondary control circuits. If strong electromagnetic interference exists, it is recommended to use shielded cables for the control lines and run them in a separate cable tray.
