What Is the MNS Low-Voltage Withdrawable Switchgear?

Initially developed by ABB of Switzerland and licensed for global manufacturing, the MNS low-voltage withdrawable switchgear is an advanced power distribution system. Shangming factory has mature processing technology for this product and supports customization.

Unlike GGD fixed switchgear, each circuit of the MNS is installed in an independently pull-out drawer module. If a circuit fails, the operator can directly pull out the drawer for repair or replacement, while other circuits in the cabinet continue to operate normally, thus achieving uninterrupted power supply during maintenance. Drawers of the same specifications are interchangeable, shortening fault recovery time.


Structural Features

The MNS Low Voltage Withdrawable Switchgear's frame is assembled using C-shaped profiles with 25mm modular holes, resulting in a lightweight structure with high mechanical strength and shock resistance.

The cabinet's interior is rigorously divided into three independent zones to prevent fault propagation:

Functional Unit Compartment: Contains drawer modules.

Busbar Compartment: Located at the rear or top of the cabinet, housing main and distribution busbars.

Cable Compartment: Located on the side of the cabinet, for external cable connections.

MNS also utilizes multi-functional panels made of high-strength flame-retardant plastic, effectively isolating horizontal and vertical busbars and preventing arcing between compartments.

Safety Design

Complete Isolation: The MNS Low Voltage Withdrawable Switchgear uses metal plates to completely isolate the functional unit compartment, busbar compartment, and cable compartment. Fault energy is confined within this compartment, not affecting adjacent circuits and preventing the spread of fault arcs.

Five-fold Interlock: Prevents electric shock or equipment damage caused by human error.

The drawer can only be pulled out from the connected position when the circuit breaker is open; the mechanical interlocking rod locks the push mechanism. → Prevents opening and closing the main circuit under load.

The functional unit compartment door and drawer position are interlocked; the door cannot be opened if the drawer is not fully pulled out; the busbar/cable compartment requires special tools to open. →Prevents accidental entry into energized compartments

The grounding switch and main switch are mechanically interlocked; the grounding switch cannot be closed when the main circuit is energized. →Prevents connecting grounding wires while energized

When the grounding switch is closed, the main switch cannot be advanced to the connection position. →Prevents energizing with grounding wire connected.

Optional key interlocking or electronic logic interlocking ensures correct operating sequence. →Prevents accidental opening and closing of circuit breakers.


Fault pressure relief: The MNS cabinet is designed with a dedicated pressure relief channel. In the event of an internal accidental short circuit, high-temperature, high-pressure gas is discharged upwards, protecting the operators in front, and meeting the IEC 61641 arc fault test requirements.
